‘Information overload’ is for real. You will hear a lot of noise, news, articles, snippets from a variety of online/offline channels. To wade through this maze, it calls for a craft. A craft of selecting what you need, from where, for what time and at what frequency.
It can be learned if you have start developing the clarity on what you are looking for – may be short articles on self improvement, training videos on stock trading or news of Hollywood celebrities in the US etc. Equally important would be how ready are you to filter out the unwanted noise as soon as you spot them. It is not easy as it is tempting to know more, to learn more, and difficult to distinguish between the good and the bad writing/sources.
Develop a mechanism of identifying and keeping up with reliable and pertinent sources of information for you. Examples include liking facebook pages, following twitter feeds, using RSS feeds, bookmarking etc. And yeah, advice from others will be just advice, take your own decision.
To summarize, grabbing what is good for you and removing instantly what is not will help you slowly develop the craft of making the best out of information overload.
