We can find mediocrity everywhere. Though most of us have heard, read and known about achieving excellence, we still find a lot of mediocrity in everything we see around. Be it our workplaces, quality of client deliverables, schools, colleges, colleagues, work ethics, personal ethics, relationships and everything that you can imagine. Does this leads to the entire system performing at a sub-par level?
Many of us behave and work just to fulfill the task at hand or as an obligation. We try to find shortcuts to completion.
This simple realization can make us aware of a major reason behind our mediocrity. If we do the task thinking that we have got the last chance to perform the best task in the world, we will achieve nothing less than excellence. There is nothing called us ‘perfection’ but you will be able to easily differentiate yourself in this ‘average’ world after some attempts and consistence practice of this habit.
You will then start taking up less things, will prioritize stuff and will do the prioritized ones whole heartedly. This might seem more demanding, a bit boring and taxing but in the long term, it will make you more satisfied, confident and successful in life, and more happy, of course.
