The ‘unknown’ is the uncertainty, fear of worst outcomes coming true, zones where we feel paralyzed. We are skeptical of the ‘unknown’. We either ignore it, fear it or run away from it. On the other hand, it is for us to realize that it has been there and it will always be there in our lives (personal or professional).
Still the importance of the unknown can not be under-emphasized. And, it exists for some reasons:
- The uncertainty can only help us overcome our ingrained fears, an imperative towards self improvement
- We can explore our hidden potential, talents and extend our self imposed limitations
- ‘High risk, high reward’ can only be realized if we take risks, an imperative towards continuous and phenomenal progress
- Life is about exploration, to walk the path we want to build for us. You see it/imagine it and then walk towards it – in the unknown.
Recount all the instances you have dared to cross your limits and tread into the unknown and you will be convinced about the overall enrichment it might have provided you (though many benefits can be seen or understood only in the long run).
