Many a times, I have seen recruiters who look for passion, aggression or enthusiasm in their candidates, mistakenly treat humility as the sign of less passion and/or enthusiasm. On the contrary, I believe, humility is one BIG quality which the leaders should look on while recruiting for their teams. Humility, along with passion and focus makes a great cocktail of committed employees and great team-workers. Here are some of the reasons why:
- They listen to their team mates and are open to their ideas and criticism
- They are not boasting all the time or taking due credit from others, a strong detriment to building a great co-operative culture
- They are much more comfortable with people smarter than them, again, a sign they will learn much more than their arrogant peers
- They are much more willing to accept change and start afresh when something they have created/started goes wrong
- They have reduced personal bias and they judge ideas and opinions on merits rather than personal biases
- They will be more amenable and open to learning new things and creating new ones leading to greater innovation in the organization
