We all face stress at different points of time in our lives. The sources, types and duration might differ but the effect is common – it troubles us.
I have realized that one thing which creates even more stress during these situations is our want to change the situation as soon as possible. ‘The need for quick change’, ‘the drive towards that elusive happiness’ itself causes a lot of stress. We are not able to devote 100 percent of our energies, concentration and thinking to solving the problem. Our minds constantly asks the questions – ‘why me’, ‘why this’ and ‘when will it end’.
The solution – a simple acceptance of the situation, people and emotions. Not wanting to change the situation at the earliest but having faith that it will change for good and at suitable times. Easier said than done but definitely easier than being in the state we are in currently.
