I still remember one of my previous managers in my organization. One of her qualities which I have come to admire the most is her excellent communication skills. I learnt the art of ‘communicating for impact’ from her.
She had excellent articulation skills. She was always ready to go that extra mile towards ensuring a reply to every email she received, even if it amounted to saying just a simple ‘Thank You’. She could design excellent layouts of slides and expressed key messages so well. I even learnt the conference call etiquette from her and the art of celebrating success of teammates.
A person who is keen to learn can learn so many valuable skills from such leaders. I believe it is an organization’s imperative to identify, recognize and grow such leaders.
